Netivei Eitan is deeply grateful to Scott Hirsch and Oded Bartov for help with the website

OUR STORY

Eitan was born in Jerusalem in March 1983. As a child he was known for his good deeds and his willingness to always help others, notably doing simple repairs in the homes of the needy. After High school he served in the Givati Brigade of the IDF. On May 20th, 2004, we his family and friends received the news that nobody wants to hear: Eitan was killed in battle in Gaza.

Many people came to the shiva [7-day mourning period], among them a group of elderly ladies whom we did not know. In conversation with them we learned that Eitan used to go to their homes to do small household repairs for them.

After the shiva we looked for an appropriate way to perpetuate Eitan's memory and remembered these elderly ladies whose words had so moved us.

That conversation gave birth to Darchei Eitan.

Darchei Eitan was founded in 2006 in Jerusalem. In 2022 we received the status of a Non Profit Association and our name was changed to Netivei Eitan. We are currently focused on helping underprivileged families in Jerusalem.

The "thank you" letters we receive are a testimony to the great need for our work.

Netivei Eitan was created by those who loved him to continue his work.

Our organization is sustained by paid professionals and volunteers. We invite you to join the Netivei Eitan family by becoming a volunteer or giving us your financial support.

All of us at Netivei Eitan are proud of our work, certain that Eitan is watching us from on high, smiling, urging us to tackle "just one more job.”
